Discovering the DFC difference

Dana F. Cole & Company, LLP provides a variety of internships and entry level opportunities for college students.

Internships:
Our internships are generally offered in the Spring and Summer.  The spring internships primarily focus on tax preparation.  We strive to provide an opportunity to complete a variety of types of tax returns in a variety of industries.  The Summer internships focus on auditing.  From prep work to fieldwork, the summer internship will take you through almost every stage of an audit.

For both internships, employment begins in our basics of taxation or auditing courses with classroom instruction and sample projects before actual assignments begin. These introductory courses will build on education concepts and explore accounting practices in operation.

Minimum requirements for internships include; enrollment in or completion of intermediate accounting, a junior standing and availability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week.  Applications for both Spring and Summer internships are accepted beginning in September of each year.  Our Summer internships are generally filled six months in advance, so apply early.  Locations for internships will vary.

Entry-Level Employment:
Dana F. Cole & Company, LLP provides a challenging place to begin a career as a professional accountant.  Generally, our staff will work in both areas of audit and tax.  The primary reasons college graduates are attracted to our firm is the variety of work, the caring staff, and the challenging accounting projects.

Our staff begin their employment in our basics of taxation or auditing courses. The classroom instruction and hands-on practice material provide a strong technical education to help through the first assignments.  Our staff report to the Seniors, Supervisors, Managers and Partners of our firm who provide guidance and on-the-job development to progress through assignments.  Staff accountants will have the opportunity to complete a variety of types of tax returns and all aspects of the auditing process.  We work as a team to provide a top quality product to our clients.  The first two years of employment will provide the development and skill building needed as a professional accountant.

Additionally, we provide time off and resources to help you prepare for and take your CPA exam.

Minimum requirements require completion (or near completion) of the educational requirements to sit for the CPA exam. Locations for entry-level positions vary. For a complete listing of our locations and information about each of the communities we are in, visit our communities page. Applications are accepted at any time, with preference on the fall recruiting cycle.  We visit a number of college campuses.  Please check with the college career center for more information.
