Supervisor for Office Support Team 

Dana F. Cole & Company, LLP, Certified Public Accountants, is currently seeking an individual with 5+ years recent supervisory experience to supervise our clerical support staff in our firm.  This department is responsible for the accuracy of our final product, such as tax filings, financial statement reports, and correspondence, all while adhering to government related deadlines.

We are located in the heart of the Midwest, with offices in Nebraska, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri and Wyoming.  Our home office in Lincoln, Nebraska, provides office administration support for all locations, including clerical and word processing duties. This position works with our accountants and involves supervision of staff that proofreads numbers and letters, puts together reports, tax forms, files regularly, processes mail, and orders supplies.  The ability to remain calm, organized and focused under deadlines is essential.

Position requires:

  • Bachelors Degree in Office Administration or 5 years experience supervising in the field ofoffice support
  • Ability to multi task and keep many things moving at the same time

Experienced tax Accountant

Our Dana F. Cole & Company offices in Montevideo, MN and Marshall, MN are both currently seeking a senior accountant with 5 to 8 years recent tax experience in public accounting to work with tax engagements related to individuals, partnerships, corporations, not-for profits, estates and trusts.  You will meet with tax clients; plan, prepare and review returns; maintain and cultivate client relationships; and complete a variety of other non-attest work.

Position requires:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Licensed Certified Public Accountant
  • Strong client rapport and project management skills
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Ability to service multiple client engagements simultaneously
  • Verbal and written skills with the emphasis on being able to articulate complex financial information to a variety of clientele 
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Farm tax experience is a plus, but not required

Accountant

Multiple locations are currently seeking a staff accountant with 1-5 years of recent audit/tax experience in public accounting to assist with multiple audit and tax engagements for non-profit, government and commercial clients. You'll work on audits, write financial statements; prepare tax returns; maintain and cultivate client relationships; and complete a variety of other non-attest work.  Candidates should have strong analytical, communication and research skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients. The ability to juggle concurrent engagements is a must. The following locations are currently hiring a full-time staff accountant:

Applicant Experience:

  • Experienced CPA with BS in Accounting or related field or
  • BS in Accounting or related field or in final year of studies to attain degree; preference given to those meeting the 150 hour requirement to sit for the CPA exam upon graduation

Accounting Assistant

Our offices in Lincoln, Nebraska and O'Neill, Nebraska, are both looking for a full time accounting assistant to join our accounting team in providing monthly bookkeeping services for our clients. Experience in public accounting and tax return preparation is necessary.  

Position Requires:

  • 5+ years experience providing bookkeeping services
  • Experience in tax return preparation
  • Experience in payroll, general ledgers and financial statements
  • Experience or certification in QuickBooks.
  • Experience with Excel
  • Works well with clients
  • Ability to multi task
  • Desire to work in public accounting firm
